How Many Times Will We Say "Tinkle"?

It seems that I have been coaxed into a soon-to-happen project that was all my damn idea in the first place: a staged version of the old Match Game shows. The idea is, we get a bunch of comic actors onstage and recreate the game show with them mimicking the old bunch of seventies C-list drunks like Bret Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, etc.

So I guess I'll be there, on one side of me Fannie Flagg (man in drag, of course), and on the other, Betty White. And I will sit there, trying as best I can to ooze unctious charm, studio lights glinting from the ostentatious necklace resting on my turtleneck, kissing anything that moves: Richard Dawson.

Oh, dear.

BY FAR my most favoritest game show of all time. My husband and I have nicknamed it "The Guess-What-Drunk-Celebrities-Will-Say Game." And you get to be Richard Dawson???
You lucky, lucky man.

Oh, man, you are about to live out my dream of all time. I want to revive the Match Game as a show with my friends and I as the permanent panel. I think waaaaaaaay too much about this. You lucky bastard.

"Match Game '76" was performed at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater (New York, New York) on Saturday, July 12th, as part of the 5th Annual Del Close Improv Marathon. I didn't get to see it this year but I hear it went off very well. I'm not saying this to try to deter you--on the contrary, do it up! Have fun!

If you want to contact the people who did it here, I can help you track 'em down.

So what you're telling me is, they totally stole my idea. In the past.
